Somewhere between a famished caterpillar eating its way through a leaf, a dozen pieces of fruit, a pickle and a slice of pie, the children of Camp Gan were hooked on storytime.
It’s the second week of the second session of Camp Gan at The Gan at Temple Sinai, and children are exploring favorite authors and storytellers.
The Gan at Temple Sinai offered Camp Gan with two four-week sessions with the first one in June and the second in July.
During the week of July 13 the author spotlight was on author and illustrator Eric Carle, the author of titles such as “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” and “The Grouchy Ladybug.”
Maurice Sendak, Margaret and H.A. Rey and Tomie dePaola were among the other authors whose books children were read
.
Projects in the classrooms reflected the books students were reading. For the book “If You Give a Moose a Muffin,” by Laura Numeroff, children helped bake muffins in the classroom.
