Join Brandeis for the popular Art in the Afternoon series of art, drama and music at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Cafe Baci. At the first event of the series Roxanne Fay will perform the one-act play, "My Unspeakable Confessions: Gala Dali." A single event costs $30 for members or $40 for guests. Community members joined hands Saturday, May 18 on Siesta Key beach as a symbol of their support for the protection of coastal economies, oceans, marine wildlife and fisheries. Supporters voiced their concern about damage that happens due to offshore oil drilling accidents, hydraulic fracturing, the Alberta tar sands, mountain top removal mining, and about coal fired power plants. Forty-two people joined hands for the Hands Across the Sand national movement. -
