Beethoven's "Emperor" Concerto will be performed at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Hailed at its Leipzig premiere as "one of the most original, imaginative... but also one of the most difficult of all concertos," you will be awed by its grandeur. Pianist Joyce Yang, critically acclaimed as "the most gifted young pianist of her generation" with a "million-volt stage presence," is an ideal interpreter of this mighty concerto. Conducting this exhilarating concert is Anu Tali, returning for an encore of her 2011 concert that lit up Sarasota.
Shelter site could become available
The city has identified a possible alternate staging area for a deep-injection well project, which would free up a potential homeless shelter site on city property.
