AJC (American Jewish Committee) will honor Margaret Callihan, Chairman, CEO, and President of SunTrust Bank at its 2012 Civic Achievement Award Dinner on Thursday, November 15, at 6:00 pm at Michael's On East. This coveted award is given annually to individuals who help to uplift the shared life of our community. Sponsorships start at $1,000. Ticket price is $175. Children from all over Sarasota County participated in the 2013 Sarasota Kiwanis Spelling Bee Program Friday, May 17 at the Lee Wetherington Boys and Girls Club. More than 100 third and fourth graders in bright yellow t – shirts competed to show off their skills and win one of three cash prizes. Booker High School and Sarasota High School Key Club sold pizza for $1 a slice and parents quizzed children in preparation for the spelling bee. -
