In many places, state and local income taxes are used for the services I listed. Even if one considers only federal income taxes, my question remains. If eliminated, how do we pay for the services provided?

- Sara Miller,
Income taxes don't pay for the police, fire protection, or libraries. Do you really think the government is going broke because of the Forest Service?

- I am not sure what point you are trying to make with your editorial about Barack Obama. Are you advocating for the elimination of income taxes? How are government entities to pay for the services they provide? I rather like having police protection, fire protection, parks, libraries, etc. Perhaps your point was that business owners make their hiring decisions based on tax policy rather than demand for their product...a concept the very successful Mark Cuban and many others have dismissed as bunk.
