Sarasota County staff will recommend County commissioners decrease four of 37 road impact fees during a Dec. 4 meeting.
Staff drafted an amendment that shrinks the fees for construction in zones designated for banks, hospitals, recreation and community centers, and industrial and light warehousing.
Assessments for building in bank land-use zones will decrease by the greatest amount of the four, 36%, if commissioners approve the amendment.
Commissioners asked for the report, which used the method from a 2006 impact fee study with current building cost and transportation data, due to concerns that fees were artificially high.
