Beth Golden and Luz Ruiz-Tagler, two instructors with Sarasota Bradenton Zumba, will lead a free Zumba class on Siesta Key Beach this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Zumba is a fitness program that includes dance and aerobics set to Latin-inspired music. It has gained popularity since Zumba Fitness LLC founders Alberto “Beto” Perez, Alberto Aghion and Alberto Perlman started selling DVDs of the workout routine in 2002. Celebrities including Jennifer Lopez and Vivica A. Fox have trumpeted their love for Zumba, claiming it is an enjoyable way to get into shape.
Anyone interested in the beach class is encouraged to R.S.V.P. through the event’s website and meet at the yellow lifeguard stand before 9. Participants will have the option to make to a donation to a charity that will be determined following an online poll on the same website.
