The Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce held their Annual Meeting and Business Awards on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Libby's Café and Bar to recap the year and award businesses for their good work. About Eighty five people attended the event where seven awards were given to local Siesta Key businesses for their commitment to the community and for a job well done.

Members of various clubs and groups at St. Boniface Episcopal Church hosted Rally Day Sunday, Jan. 27 in the courtyard to show off what activities the church has to offer. The church has nearly 50 groups ranging from yoga, bridge, bible study, various volunteer service projects and even a conversational Spanish club. "This is a sort of welcome for our new rector Rev. John C. N. Hall to show him what we have and so new parishioners can see what is going on and for ministries to open themselves up to new people," said Director of Stewardship Betsie Danner.

Dr. Isaac and Vivian Kalvaria hosted a night of music, wine, and ooh la la desserts on Saturday, Jan. 26 at their Siesta Key home to raise funds for the Kaplan Preschool at Chabad of Sarasota. Flutist Jane Hoffman and pianists Zara Baroyan and Mike Markaverich played Jewish music such as Hevenu Shalom Alechem, Chabad er Melodie, Three Songs without Words and others.
