Yellow Strawberry Hair Salon held the Donna Chen Memorial Cut-A-Thon and Humane Society fundraiser Jan. 6, in honor of Donna Chen, who was killed by a drunk driver last year. Chen was running with her dog, Barney, who was later rescued by a kayaker. All proceeds from the event went to the Humane Society because of Chen’s love for Barney. Hair stylists gave nearly 100 haircuts raising $3,000, and at least four animals were adopted.
