The Sarasota County Commission early next year will consider lowering the speed limit on a half-mile segment of Midnight Pass Road.
The county’s traffic advisory council voted unanimously to recommend that commissioners decrease the 40-mile-per-hour speed limit from Vista Hermosa Circle to Sanderling Road to 25 miles per hour.
Petitioner Sarah Cooper, a Siesta resident, said the change would improve safety at intersections.
