- An overpass across Gulfstream at Main Street was discussed several years ago. It remains the best and cheapest solution to crossing Gulfstream without traffic signals. Closing Main Street to car traffic may be a precarious endeavor. Chicago closed State Street many years ago to automobile traffic only permitting bus and taxi service. After many years of this nonsense and the destruction of many businesses, the so-called Mall was shut down and the street was reopened to automobile traffic--and very successfully so. Be careful what grandiose plans you make so they don't come back to bite you by destroying businesses. A potentially very expensive mistake.

- Re-routing US 41? really, and what other nieghborhood away from the Downtown/Bayfront condos are we going to re-route it? What other nieghborhood are we going to dump all that traffic on, just so the residents of downtown and our tourist will have this nice european style walkway to gawk at. US 41 along the bayfront is the most scenic drive in this area....build a walkway over it if you want , just leave the road there !
