At 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, a man entered the liquor store of Sweetbay Supermarket, 4200 block of Bee Ridge Road, with a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk. The suspect was described as a white male, around his late 20s, with dark hair, between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall.

Later that night, police received a call at 9:20 p.m. about a suspicious person in the Tippecanoe subdivision. Police responded to the call with the Sheriff’s Office helicopter, patrol deputies and a K-9 unit. The suspect was taken into custody. The man matched the description of the armed robber and was identified by the Sweetbay clerk. The suspect, Bradford Wilson, 51, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm.
