  • My family and friends recently spent a week at Sunset on the Keys for our daughter's wedding. It was a comfortable, pretty little place, and was a wonderful venue for our wedding reception. Everyone had a wonderful time, with no real problems to speak of...however, we DID have problems with the management of the establishment, who informed us that we 'broke this, and ruined that, etc.'. We tried to follow their rigid rules and regulations, but it seemed like we were under constant attack, and were told we had been "confrontational" since we arrived! Our guests, who were staying at Sunsets, were good, decent people who wanted nothing but good memories for the bride and groom. Now, presently, if the guests at Sunsets are unhappy and unwilling to return, I highly doubt it is because of "incidents in the Village"...I would say it is more likely because of the stringent, less- than- cordial attitude of the present front desk managment team!

  • I think the truth really needs to be told. If the Pelican had done just a little research, they would have found out that Sunsets has been for sale for OVER four years. They have been wanting out for a very long time. If you were to ask EVERY resort owner in or around the village, you would find that business has been up for the last several years and up over 20 percent this year alone. All they have to do is lower the price to a realistic number and it will sell. It's worth less than half of what they are asking for it.
