Who, What, Wear
Black Tie noticed Charlie Ann Syprett from a mile away during the Ringling College Library's Town Hall Lecture Series with former first lady Laura Bush Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
Syprett left Sarasota on a jet plane to New York City with her girlfriends and, like almost every female feels inclined to do in the Big Apple — she shopped Fifth Avenue.
As soon as she spotted this St. John leopard coat, she turned to her friend, Susan Palmer, and asked, “Do I buy this coat or not?” And, as any good girlfriend should, Palmer told her to buy it.
"I saw the coat and loved it," Syprett says. "I am a leopard fan. I hesitated buying it, thinking of the three other leopard coats and jackets that I own."
Palmer told Syprett that she would get more wear out of the coat than all the others combined and that it is timeless.
"So, I bought it and have had no regrets!" Syprett says.
The St. John coat has since traveled to Portugal, Spain, Italy, San Francisco, Canada and Philadelphia.
Syprett paired her leopard coat with a black pashmina, Chanel handbag and let’s not forget the red boots, a purchase also made during the same New York City shopping trip because Syprett's feet were hurting.
