Three Sarasota vocalist groups serenaded the audience that gathered for the tree-lighting ceremony Nov. 27, at J.D. Hamel Park — but only one of them blew out the lights on the Christmas tree.
Richard Caldwell, who performs romantic renditions of French love songs, American jazz and contemporary show tunes, used his smooth, rich baritone voice to get the audience in the Christmas spirit until the speakers issued a snap, crackle and pop warning and the tree’s lights went out.
