On Veterans Day, a memorial to the late Capt. Ralph Styles was held at the Siesta Key gazebo. Styles, a decorated Navy veteran, was known for his nightly ceremony of lowering the American flag at sunset at his Siesta Key home, where neighbors and friends frequently gathered for the ceremony.
