The Sarasota Scullers Youth Rowing Program participated in the Head of the Schuylkill, Oct. 24, in Philadelphia.
The event is one of the largest and most competitive headraces in the United States, during which more than 5,000 athletes raced.
The Scullers won a gold medal in the Women’s Quad — the first time a Sarasota rowing team has placed in the top three at this particular regatta. Gold-medal winners were Shannon Sims, Colleen Wohlrab, Becca L’Hote and Mary Beth Bilder.
