Sweetbay Supermarkets recently launched its sixth annual “Sweetbay Supports Schools” program, a fundraising opportunity for area schools to raise money.
The campaign, which runs through November, is open to schools serving kindergarten through grade 12.
School dollars will be issued in the form of a coupon that prints with the receipt, which participants can redeem for cash toward their school. The top-10 registered schools that raise the most school dollars will receive an additional $1,000 grant from Sweetbay Supermarkets.
Last year, Sweetbay donated more than $250,000 cash to participating schools — nearly double the amount from 2007.
