The Sarasota County Arts Council announced the recipients of two grants it recently awarded during a private reception Monday, Sept. 14. Neil Schleifer, Rebecca Langford, Meg Pierce, Justin Spring and Sharon Scott were recognized with the John Ringling Towers Fund Awards, given to practicing, professional, creative artists in Sarasota County. The council also awarded the Historical Society; North Port Art Guild; West Coast Civic Ballet; Diversity, The Voices of Sarasota; Venice Symphony; Gloria Musicae; the Hermitage; and the Celtic Cultural Association with State of the Arts Opportunity Grants for use toward historic rehabilitation, preventative maintenance projects or national register designations.
