The Humane Society of Sarasota County will host its magical Harry Potter-themed event, Muggles 4 Mutts, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in the HSSC Education Center, 2331 15th St., Sarasota. There will be adoption specials on dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits and other pets. All dog and cat adoptions will be $45.

While there, dine on grilled hot dogs and burgers, dragon chips and unicorn soda. And, be sure to bring a photo of your current pet for a reading with psychic to the pets, Lori Michel. If you come dressed as your favorite Harry Potter character, you will receive a prize. Proceeds from this event will benefit HSSC’s Education Program.
