Sarasota resident Renée Sheade celebrated her birthday May 16, a few days early, at Michael’s On East. Long-time friend Jeannette D’Angelo organized the birthday luncheon. This year’s gang included Sheade’s friends Terri Blumberg, Betty Schiff, Charlene Carstens, Joan Mendell, Joy Server, Dottie Garner, Helen Sherman and Sandy Greenberg. D’Angelo has been planning birthday bashes for her friends for 27 years. It is estimated Sheade has been the greatest recipient, with about 26 birthday cakes. This year is D’Angelo’s swan song in that role, however, because she will be moving to Charlotte, N.C., in the near future.
