This tub of chicken below, created by Pine View high school student, Louie Zuniga, is just one example of the creative student artwork in the 2009 Spring Art show exhibit, ongoing through May 1, at Art Center Sarasota.
The exhibit, also held at the Venice Art Center through May 14, includes more than 5,00 works of art created by students from every public elementary, middle and high school in the district.
Ringling College of Art and Design awarded two $5,000 portfolio awards to Alexandra Orwasky of Riverview High School and Nichole Timoney of Venice High School. Two $1,000 portfolio awards from Manatee Community College went to Booker High School students John Frelinghuysen and Chris Leverett.
