+ U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum presents program
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum will host a public program at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 21, at Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
The museum serves as the national memorial to victims of the Holocaust. The program, “The Holocaust in Arab Lands,” will feature speaker Scott Miller, director of curatorial affairs at the museum, who will discuss the detective work that he and his colleagues have been conducting to track the Jews who left Morocco post-World War II. The quest has taken the team all over Europe to ensure that the Jews’ stories are recorded.
Guests will learn about the fate of the Jewish communities in North Africa and the stories of Arab rescuers during the Holocaust through artifacts and documents from these collections. For information, call 202-488-2637 or e-mail jberkowitz@ushmm.org.
