+ Tie the knot on water
A floating Chapel on the Bay is being launched in Sarasota and is the only vessel of its kind in the United States. The vessel is commanded by owners Orca Fisher and Jill Chandler Fisher, both Coast Guard-certified captains.
The marriage-mobile-on-water combines a chapel complete with a steeple, stained-glass widows, polished oak pews and a vaulted ceiling. The chapel is available for all-inclusive weddings of up to 120 people, wedding-vow renewals, memorial services, anniversaries and church-group gatherings. Dreams Are Free held its inaugural Food Truck Rally Wednesday, April 16. Families from both Dreams Are Free and St. Martha’s Catholic School celebrated the beginning of spring break with hot food from food trucks. The luncheon was a fundraiser for the school for students with special needs. “All of our families were able to join together,” says Dreams Are Free Principal Rebecca Shields. “This was really a community builder as well as a fundraiser.”
