The Sarasota Observer welcomed this week its new community editor, Nick Friedman. Former Community Editor Loren Mayo has been named Black Tie Editor – look for her column in Diversions and online at YourObserver.com.
Friedman is originally from St. Louis and recently graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in journalism.
Despite always being told he had a perfect face for the radio, he decided to forego the spotlight and pursue print journalism.
He enjoys meeting new people, watching cheesy movies, thin-crust pizza and guitar. Throughout college, he played guitar in a rock trio called Andre and the Giants.
Friedman is excited to immerse himself in the city.
Send event announcements and story ideas to him at nfriedman@yourobserver.com.
