Every Wednesday after school, children age 5 and older make a beeline for the Gulf Gate Library. They don’t come just for the reading alone — they come to snuggle up for one-on-one story time with loveable dogs from the Humane Society of Sarasota.
Children can pick out their favorite book, or one they’ve never read, and know that these friendly, furry dogs will give them their undivided attention. They’ll even poke their cold, wet noses into the book to get a closer look at the pictures.
Gulf Gate Library’s “Read to Your Furry Friends” event takes place from 4 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday. To join the fun, call 861-1230.
