Modeled after the movie, “Paperclips,” seventh-graders at Temple Sinai launched a campaign to make the deaths of 6 million Jews in the Holocaust more tangible. Since February, the “Tabs for Souls” campaign has been in action. The goal is for the students to collect 6 million soda-can tabs; so far, the students have amassed 9,686 tabs. The outgoing seventh-grade class is passing on its collection to the incoming class this fall. Collection bins are located throughout the temple.

- This is problematical. When I studied Theology souls were not material. Can tabs, however, are material.
Maybe this is actually about making the number "6 million" more tangible? Better to collect pennies - fewer cut fingers. Not to mention the health effects of drinking 6 million cans of soda.
After the demonstration, the temple can put the pennies to good use more readily than can tops. Just my .02 worth!
