This week we went in the kitchen at Mar Vista for Bud and Bay Shrimp. Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant & Pub is located in Longbeach Village on Longboat Key. The restaurant offers fresh seafood and outdoor seating overlooking the Sarasota Bay.
Bud and Bay Shrimp
• 12 Shrimp, uncooked.
• 5 ounces Budweiser beer
• 1 and 1/2 ounces. Old Bay Seasoning
• 1 1/2 ounces garlic Butter
• Add all ingredients together in a sauté pan except shrimp.
• Bring to a boil.
• Add shrimp, stirring occasionally until shrimp are pink and half-moon shaped.
• Serve with lemon and cocktail sauce if desired.

Can you dig it?
Third- and fourth-grade students of Temple Beth Sholom had a chance to brush up on their paleontology skills last week while digging for faux dinosaur bones.
Sound of scholars
Local students Caleb Upton and Matthew Vaadi received some help for their upcoming studies to the tune of $1,000 each from the Sarasota Chorus of the Keys. The scholarships were made possible through the Sheridan E. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund. Both students plan to use the funds toward a career in music.
