Authorities warn about suspicious man in Palmer Ranch
Date: June 25, 2009

The sheriff’s office is warning residents to be wary of a suspicious man knocking on doors and asking for money.
The man has already approached several people in the Palmer Ranch community of Mira Lago. In an incident that happened last night at 8 p.m. on Rue de Palisades, the man claimed to be the grandson of a neighbor and pretended to be familiar with the people from whom he asked for money. He said he had to pay a tow-truck bill, so he could visit his wife in the hospital.
The man was seen checking mailboxes so that he could call residents by name.
The sheriff’s office is warning residents to take the following precautions:
• Don’t let any stranger into your home.
• If a stranger asks to use the telephone, offer to place the call yourself, while the person stands outside.
• Report any suspicious activity to the sheriff’s office at 861-4900.
