A 2-year-old girl was seen walking alone on Bee Ridge Road early this morning.

A passerby called the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office to say he found the toddler just before 4 a.m. She was unharmed.

Deputies found the little girl’s home and determined that her grandmother was supposed to be caring for her.

Dawn Lynch, 37, said she had fallen asleep. Deputies said the woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

She was arrested and is being held in jail without bond. The girl was turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families.

  • okay, I promised I wouldn't judge the proverbial book by the cover but...grandmother? yes, she looks it but I would think more along the lines of 73 years old, not 37. holy crap, if I look like that at 50, I'm high-tailin' it to Cali for a little Dr. 90210
