The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office issued 181 citations for seatbelt violations during its “Click It or Ticket Campaign,” that ran from March 1 through March 16.
Deputies also made 16 arrests for driving under the influence, and cited 297 drivers for speeding, 58 drivers for driving with a suspended license and 29 for reckless driving, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
All drivers must wear seatbelts while riding in the front seat of a vehicle; passengers under 18 must buckle up regardless of where they are seated.

- Hallelujah, I feel so much safer that 181 drivers were caught without wearing seat belts. Crime will now plummet. And I can walk the streets at night feeling secure and protected unlike the two Brits who were shot dead a couple of years ago North of Downtown.
