Nearly one month after the Connecticut shooting, the Sarasota County School Board Jan. 22, will consider district safety and security policies during a monthly work session.
Sarasota County School District staff will present an overview of past security policy adjustments following a 2003 security audit by National School Safety and Security Services, according to the meeting agenda.
During the Jan. 22 meeting at the Landings Administrative Complex at 1960 Landings Blvd., staff will also discuss budget adjustments necessary to improve video surveillance, visitor management and building access, among other recommendations for school security policies.
The School Board at a regular board meeting the same afternoon will consider an eminent domain settlement for a 10,000 square foot property in the city of North Port.
