Buchanan lobbies for open meetings on health reform
Date: January 7, 2010

Congressman Vern Buchanan is lobbying President Barack Obama to make sure the final negotiations on proposed health-care reform are conducted under the full view of the American people.
In a letter to the president dated Jan. 7, Buchanan writes: “Excluding the public and press from this process sends a disturbing message. A government that is secretive and inaccessible cannot maintain the trust and confidence of the people it serves.”
Buchanan also urged the president to take up C-SPAN’s offer to televise negotiations.
