Members of the Siesta Key Kiwanis Club met for its gala fundraising kickoff luncheon Wednesday, April 2, at Café Bacci. Members wore tropical themed attire to get in the spirit of the gala’s theme ‘tropical nights in paradise.’ Members also enjoyed ‘cheeseburgers in paradise’ and margaritas for lunch while listening to Jimmy Buffet songs. The gala will be held at the Sarasota Yacht Club on Saturday, May 31.

All Faiths Food Bank, in partnership with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, held a kick-off breakfast for its 40-day campaign, “Campaign Against Summer Hunger,” Tuesday, April 1. The campaign, which runs through May 10, encourages local residents to empty their shelves and make cash donations to combat seasonal hunger. “This is an opportunity for you to give from your head and your heart," said Teri Hansen, CEO and president of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.
