Sarasota student honored for breaking barriers

Baseball hero Jackie Robinson's daughter, Sharon Robinson, and Tampa Bay Rays mascot, Raymond, visited 14-year-old Tyler Degener, winner of the "Breaking Barriers: In Sport, In Life" essay contest, at the Dreams Are Free school on Friday, April 22. Later that night, the Rays will host a pre-game ceremony to recognize Tyler for his award-winning essay and he will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
