National Night Out gives away 700 bike helmets

Last year, more than 2,000 people attended National Night Out. This year, as part of the Florida Department of Transportation's bicycle pedestrian safety awareness program, more than 700 people were fitted with free bicycle helmets. The event, held at Payne Park, featured entertainment, food and raffle drawings.
Scullers indulge in camp picnic

From barking in downward dog to hissing in cobra, Yoga from the Heart's Pretzel Yoga class for children ages 5 to 10 explores yoga in a fun and interesting way. Taught by Alex Miller, the class (which is optional for parents) used animated poses, yoga stories and basic stretching exercises Wednesday, July 21, to promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. The class meets weekly at 4 p.m. Wednesdays. For more information, call 929-9878.

The group of children ages 6 to 11 was focusing on 'Travel Around the World' and were experimenting with Asian art and basic brush strokes, while the teens focused on 'Figures in a Wild Culture.'
