Mayor Shannon Snyder proclaimed September as Hunger Action Month Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the County Commissioners Office. He encouraged community members to donate to local food banks.
Orange is the color that represents Hunger Action Month. Business leaders, artists, educators, government officials, students and residents are invited to show their support by donating food in Sarasota County.
All Faiths Food Bank encourages community members to submit photographs to its Facebook page of themselves wearing the color orange and donating.
An awards ceremony for the most orange creativity will be held Friday, Oct. 11. The time and location of the ceremony will be announced in the coming weeks on All Faiths Food Bank’s Facebook site and website.
All Faiths Food Bank encourages participants to drop food off at any Goodwill location.
