Old Heidelberg Pastry Shop, the European pastry shop on State Street, got a facial today when Christina Benoay and Howard Vo spruced up its storefront windows.
The shop, owned by Karl Schoenberger, opened eight months ago. Schoenberger says he’s gotten calls from locals and visitors saying they can’t find the shop, and, because he’s not permitted to add signs to the windows, he asked two family friends to outline the letters in white paint and paint colorful cakes and pastries to make it more noticeable.
“We cater to weddings, birthday parties, regattas, yacht clubs, business breakfasts and lunches,” Schoenberger said. “We also do custom orders — all kinds of grandmothers’ recipes.”
