Join the community in welcoming Nik Wallenda back to his hometown, after his historical high wire walk at the Grand Canyon.
The Wallenda parade starts at 7 p.m. at the corner of U.S. 301 and will precede the Parade of Boats down Main Street to Gulfstream Avenue.

Sarasota resident Sol Carson celebrated his 100th birthday Aug. 15, at the Jewish Family and Children’s Services of Sarasota Inc. The birthday party included cake, singing and family. Carson, a South Philadelphia native, lives in Sarasota with his son, Charles.
