Overall, thus far the total number of voters who either voted early or cast an absentee ballot before Election Day is slightly higher than the early turnout in 2008.

Electrical violinist Willie Royal, from Willie & Lobo and Nicolaas Kraster from Lotus Fire performed while partygoers danced to the music. The atmosphere was fun and festive as people chatted on lounge couches and sipped on drinks.

The Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast hosted a fall family festival at the Bay Preserve at Osprey Saturday, Nov. 3. Children and their families enjoyed activities, including face painting, games, a fitness center, exploring a fire truck, trolley rides and live music.

Young chess enthusiasts from all over the city gathered in the gymnasium of Faith Lutheran Church Saturday, Nov. 3 for a citywide youth tournament, hosted by Sarasota Scholastic Chess, a nonprofit organization formed to promote youth involvement in the game. Students put their skills to the test for the chance to win trophies and medals.

Sarasota Christian School hosted its homecoming event Saturday, Nov. 3 at its campus. Alumni and students gathered to participate in fall festivities and sports, including kickball games. Guests enjoyed food and drink and reuniting with alumni.

Temple Sinai held their Annual Illumination Fundraiser. The gala was white themed complete with a photo booth, dinner, and dancing. Partygoers bid on silent auction items ranging from jewelry to scuba diving lessons and all proceeds went to the Temple Sinai preschool.
