Alta Vista traffic circle to change

Neighborhood complaints have spurred the city to alter some of the features of a Shade Avenue traffic circle. If residents aren't pleased with the changes, the circle will be removed.

National Night Out gives away 700 bike helmets

Last year, more than 2,000 people attended National Night Out. This year, as part of the Florida Department of Transportation's bicycle pedestrian safety awareness program, more than 700 people were fitted with free bicycle helmets. The event, held at Payne Park, featured entertainment, food and raffle drawings.
