The Sarasota Yacht Club held their annual Lighting of the Fleet on Friday, Dec. 3. The event brought our hundreds of members and their families for an evening full of fun, food and lots of Christmas lights. The theme for the competition was “Tropical Christmas”. There were plenty of lights, attractions and great tropical decorations and all the boats were hoping to win in their category.
The judges for the evening included Jeff and Rosemary Angeleri and Channel 7’s Bob Harrigan. The judges had to pick their favorite boats for four different categories: Best Sailboat, Best Under 30’, Best Over 30’ and Overall Winner.
Mother Ocean, owned by Rich and Donna Gress, won for Best Sailboat, Kerry K, owned by Edumnd Strauss, won for Best Under 30’, Mary Agnes, owned by Jym and Mary Agen, won for Best Over 30’, and Chump Change, owned by Harry and Betty Pawlowitz won for Best Overall.
