The Police Advisory Panel city commissioners created after the botched investigation of a police officer kicking a handcuffed suspect will meet for the first time Monday, Nov. 30.
The panel will exist for six months. Its job is to examine the practices and policies of the Sarasota Police Department regarding the use of force, interaction with minorities and more.
The inaugural meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 1565 First St.
All Police Advisory Panel meetings will be aired live on Access Sarasota on Comcast Cable channel 19 and Verizon channel 34 and streamed live on the Internet at www.sarasotagov.com.
