The Sarasota Scullers Youth Rowing team ended its fall race season by winning the first-place overall team points trophy Nov. 7 and 8 at the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Following a successful overall second-place finish last year, the team accomplished its victory by winning three gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
The Head of the Hooch is the largest headrace in the United States, with more than 8,600 youth, college and master rowers from 30 states and Canada competing on a 5,000-meter racecourse.
The Scullers will compete Dec. 5 at the Sunrise Sprints Regatta in Orlando.
