Former city plan receives planning award

Mike Taylor, former general manager for neighborhood redevelopment and projects with the City of Sarasota, was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Florida Sun Coast Chapter of the American Planning Association.

Taylor was nominated for the award by his colleagues at the City of Sarasota. He had spent more than 30 years of service with the city before leaving the position.

On Nov. 7, the chapter of the American Planning Association presented the award.
