The Downtown Sarasota Alliance will hold its inaugural general-membership meeting this Thursday.
DSA board members have been meeting since September after the organization was formed. The group is a conglomeration of downtown businesses, residents, arts organizations and places of worship.
The general-membership meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., Nov. 12, at Church of the Redeemer at 222 S. Palm Ave.
The board will update members on its holiday- and season-event plans, as well as its goals for the future. Among the guests will be Lt. Jeff Karr of the Sarasota Police Department, who will make a presentation on the efforts to fight transient crime downtown.
