- Don't be fooled by the PR. This so-called Mobility Plan is actually an Immobility Plan, to bring gridlock to our roads. City staff (supported so far by a 3 to 2 vote of the City Commission) proposes to repeal concurrency, the rule that developers may not create excessive traffic congestion, in most of the City. The crazy idea is to let the roads become so crowded that people instead are somehow forced to use other forms of transportation, as if buses don't get caught in traffic too and auto trips can generally be replaced with bikes and walking. It is an irresponsible giveaway of the public interest to the big developers who more than even now control City Hall. Attend the November 1 workshops and let them know this is unacceptable!
- And then we can all sing gumbaya together and beat our drums.
