Their resumes include Hollywood blockbusters such as “The Silence of the Lambs,” “The Departed” and “Jerry Maguire,” and they will coming to town in two weeks to see if Sarasota may be the location of their next big film.
Eleven of the film industry’s biggest producers will meet with city and county officials and community groups from Oct. 19 to Oct. 21. The purpose is to let the community know how to attract Hollywood filmmakers and to show the producers some of the area’s best assets.
The Sarasota County Film and Entertainment Office will take the producers on a tour that includes Longboat Key, Lido Key, Siesta Key, downtown Sarasota, the arts district, Ca d’Zan, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and Venice.
