  • I'm not sure I would depend on information from the Army Corps of Engineers given their track record!

  • I certainly hope the people of Lido Beach think twice before allowing any groins in their area. I have a home at en Provence and several years ago groins were installed at The Islander high rise condo. community. While over the years the beach in front of the Islander building ( 3 properties away) has built back up but the sand and beach in front of villa di Lancia and en Provence have washed away. It is a deplorable situation. Groins may solve the problem for a few owners but to the detriment of adjacent owners. I have been told that is the main reason they are not allowed as a means of erosion control along the South Carolina coast.
