The charitable arm of Michael Saunders & Co., the MSC Foundation, awarded nearly $30,000 in charitable grants Friday, July 12, at its Sarasota headquarters to support 20 community organizations from Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties.
Community members joined founder and CEO Michael Saunders for breakfast and to pick up their checks. Saunders praised community organizations for their work and explained what each organization does.
“We can never do too much to help these organizations obtain the funding necessary to carry out their mission,” Saunders said.
The MSC Foundation is in its second year and has channeled $80,000 in charitable grants to more than 35 non-profit organizations who serve Southwest Florida. The company gives charitable grants in July and December after a 13-member committee reviews grant applications.
The MSC Foundation is supported through voluntary donations from agents, staff and management of Michael Saunders & Co.
